Commercial rafting outfitters typically run trips beginning in April and going through May or early June. The North Fork American is a challenging river and unless you are an advanced boater, it is essential that you hire a professional guide to lead you through the rapids.
Trip Tip
The North Fork is incredibly scenic and because it is in a deep canyon, the lighting is often great for taking pictures. If you have a waterproof digital camera, make sure to bring it along on your trip!
